The MIT Institute of Design, Pune, commenced the MIT DET 2026 registration process online at mitid.edu.in. Candidates can submit the MIT DAT application form 2026 by February 28, 2026. The institute will conduct MIT DAT 2026 on April 6, 2026. The MIT Design Entrance Test is conducted in one cycle for B.Des and in two cycles for M.Des programmes. Candidates who are shortlisted in the design entrance exam are called to attend the studio test and interview.
Furthermore, candidates who qualify for studio tests and personal interviews must attend at their respective campuses, which completes the selection process. Aspirants should note that the MIT Institute of Design Pune, Avantika University Ujjain, and MIT University Shillong will have their separate merit lists of shortlisted candidates.
What is MIT Design Aptitude Test?
The MIT Design Aptitude Test, or MIT DAT, is conducted jointly for admissions to the B.Des & M.Des programmes at MIT Institute of Design (MITID) Pune, MITID Indore (Avantika University-Ujjain), and MITID Shillong (MIT University Shillong). MIT DAT which is now MIT DET (Design Entrance Test) is conducted for the duration of 3 hours at various test centres across India. (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin (Kochi), Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, & Pune). MITID DET syllabus includes analysis ability, observation skills, problem-solving techniques, etc.
